Singapore electro-pop duo Cosmic Armchair has signed with Alfa Matrix, and has become the first Asian band to sign an album deal with Belgium-based in label. This collaboration with Alfa Matrix, home to international electro stars like Front 242, Recoil, Nitzer Ebb and supergroup Bruderschaft, gives the duo better access to audiences everywhere especially in Europe and America.
Cosmic Armchair has already remixed two Alfa Matrix artists – Mondtraume (from Spain) and Simon Carter (from the UK). Both remixes are now available on the respective artist’s albums. Cosmic Armchair’s debut album on the Alfa Matrix label is targeted for release in the middle of 2014, but Singapore fans don’t need to wait till then to hear the songs ‘live’. The band will be playing at The Esplanade Outdoor Theatre on Friday night 11 April 2014. The duo will be playing two ‘live’ sets at 7.30pm and 10pm and will be featuring their new songs including the upcoming single “I Don’t Belong Here”.
