We are proud to present two special guests at the next RIDE in NOV:COSMIC ARMCHAIR:
This highly talented Singapore duo stages an exclusive live act for RIDE. Their innovative sound is somewhere in-between Zweiraumwohnung, LaRoux and TheSounds. COSMIC ARMCHAIR has definitely a huge potential and we are happy that we got them to perform live at the next RIDE!KEVIN ZHAN:
Growing up in the cosmopolitan cities of Tokyo, London and Toronto, Kevin’s love for electronic music was kindled at a formative age after witnessing older schoolmates playing vinyl on a pair of Technic 1200s. What started off as a natural curiosity in turntable artistry; had eventually become a full-fledged passion and drive for aptness for the art form.Over the years, Kevin’s discernment in music evolved – from the nimbleness of Trance and Progressive House to the deeper, rich bass driven sounds of House, Techno and Nu Disco. Formerly a resident of Vancouver Canada, Kevin has currently relocated his base to Singapore where he intends to bring his diverse unique style to keen music enthusiasts in the city and beyond. We look forward to welcome Kevin at RIDE!We are very much looking forward to have a blast of a night together as the RIDE continues to grow – be a part of it!CONCISE. FUN. RIDE.
Here’s one of the songs we’re singing that night
Thanks to all our friends who came to the Halloween Ball and all the new friends we made. Ben had great fun spinning his trademark DJ set of New Wave remixes and mashups and we enjoyed the dark gothic music from DJ PVG (Philip). It was a good time for Goths and non-Goths alike, showing that music transcends all cultural barriers. You can find the full photo album here
This remix is exclusively available to our mailing list, including new friends to came to our show at the Esplanade Concourse.
Thanks to 5MinuteMusic for reviewing our show at The Esplanade Concourse as well as our EP A Second Look. Read the whole article at http://5minutemusic.com/post/31837380419/cosmic-armchair-a-prelude-to-a-new-release
“The name Cosmic Armchair is self-descriptive of the band’s approach to their music. Whilst their beats often take on a vibe that is reminiscent of downtempo styles, they don’t shy away from the occasional heavy groove. The vocals are strong but dream-like, contributing to an overall sound that is distinctively chill-out.”
